Counter: sprint inside

Follow these steps when the warning flashes:

  1. Drop outdoor tasks immediately and run toward the kitchen.
  2. Cross the threshold of the door and keep moving past it.
  3. Stay away from the doorway for several seconds after entering — the entity lunges at players standing in a doorway.
  4. Resume the kitchen loop once the warning text clears.

Because the Shadow Entity only appears outdoors at night, finishing outdoor chores before 8:00 PM and sheltering inside is the cleanest counter for an entire shift.

Fallback counter: Cross or Gun

If you cannot make it inside in time, a Cross or Gun can defeat the Shadow Entity on contact. Treat this as a fallback only; entering the shop is faster and removes the risk of contact entirely.

How it differs from The Giant

The Shadow Entity and The Giant both spawn outside at night, but the counter differs: the Shadow Entity can be defeated with a Cross or Gun, while The Giant cannot be killed or blocked by any weapon. For The Giant's full counter, see the Giant boss page.
